Building a Vibrant and Inclusive Community
BASES' Vision for 2023-2024
As we embark on a new year, BASES is brimming with excitement and ambition. Our vision for the upcoming year revolves around three pillars: community, opportunity, and exploration. We are dedicated to fostering a thriving and inclusive environment that empowers students at Stanford to become entrepreneurial leaders. With our innovative initiatives and passionate team, we aim to create a year filled with memorable entrepreneurial experiences and valuable professional development.
Enhancing Community Engagement with the Core Team:
To strengthen the sense of belonging and buy-in from BASES members, we are introducing a new team called Core. This dynamic team will spearhead social and logistical planning, ensuring that BASES remains a fun and engaging space. From weekly bonding activities like brunches and movie nights to larger events such as Treks and Special D, Core will curate experiences that foster friendships and meaningful connections. Additionally, Core will organize our internal mentorship program, providing guidance and support to aspiring entrepreneurs. Transparent communication through All-Hands and Executive Team meetings will keep the community updated on the organization's progress and upcoming opportunities.
Boosting Academic and Career Opportunities through the Professional Development Team:
With BASES’ commitment to academic and career-oriented excellence, we are launching the Professional Development Team. This dedicated group will design and implement a comprehensive year-long Professional Development (PD) program for BASES members. The program will equip students with essential skills and knowledge, preparing them for success in the entrepreneurial landscape. Furthermore, the team will orchestrate our flagship Startup Career Fair, connecting BASES members with sponsors and professionals within the BASES network. This bridge between academia and industry will open doors to exciting opportunities for career growth and exploration.
Exploring Technological Frontiers with the Hackspace Team:
To enable BASES builders to push the boundaries of technology, we are proud to introduce the Hackspace team. This team will serve as a hub for students to connect with like-minded individuals, find technical co-founders, and collaborate on engineering projects throughout the quarter. Through workshops and speaker events catered to students of all experience levels, the Hackspace team will nurture a culture of continuous learning and innovation. It will be a space where novel ideas take shape and transformative technologies emerge.
Uniting Towards a Common Goal:
As the new presidents of BASES, we are thrilled to embark on this journey alongside our dedicated team. While each of BASES' 10 teams—Challenge, Growth, Finance, Fundraising, Marketing, Social Impact, Startup Development, Core, Hackspace, and Professional Development—has distinct responsibilities, they all share in our mission of inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders at Stanford. By fostering collaboration and communication across teams, we aim to make the ideas of BASES members and sponsors possible. We are committed to creating an environment where ideas flourish, connections are forged, and dreams become reality.
