Our philosophy
Since the days of Frederick Terman and Hewlett-Packard, Stanford has defined Silicon Valley. From Google to Nvidia, we've produced some of the largest venture outcomes in the world and, in the process, become a hub for innovation.
Yet this success has attracted those who pursue startups for wealth and status, not because they want to change the world. Entrepreneurship has been diluted, and the ensuing theatrics have repelled those who treat the lever of building a business seriously.
We are here to fix this.
How?
In short, we must get back to the fundamentals. Our time needs to be spent learning from great founders, whether by bringing them to campus or visiting them at their offices and factories, and engaging in constant conversation about our work, our ideas, and how great businesses are built.
Curiosity and obsession need to once again be the lifeblood of the school, where, as of now, Startup Theater has left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.
