BASES kicked off the 2008-09 year on Friday, November 7th with a banquet for the current officers and executives along with BASES alumni and advisors.  The event featured a keynote from Guy Kawasaki, the manager of Garage Technology Ventures, focused on ten steps that lead to a successful tech startup.  Guy also mentioned many themes presented in his new book, Reality Check.

The kickoff also featured a presentation from Adam Marchick, a BASES alum, about his experience in BASES and the importance of the feeling of community within the organization.
